About Malbec
Malbec is a red grape variety originally from southwestern France that has become the "soul" of Argentine wine. In the 19th century, Malbec was introduced to Argentina, where regions like Mendoza provided an ideal growing environment—abundant sunlight, high-altitude climate with large day-night temperature swings, and well-drained sandy soils—that brought out its unique character.
Argentine Malbec is known for its deep purple or ruby-red hue, offering intense aromas of black cherry, plum, and blackberry, along with notes of violet, cocoa, coffee, or vanilla from oak aging. Its full-bodied palate features soft, silky tannins, balanced acidity, and a long finish—powerful yet elegant. It pairs perfectly with rich dishes like meat and cheese.
This "Malbec Night" may have ended, but as a highlight of 2025 Chang'an International Culture Year, it left not only a lingering taste on the palate but also a beautiful mark of cultural exchange. We look forward to more international cultural events that will paint Chang'an's vibrant cultural landscape from diverse perspectives!
