As the graceful harp melodies filled the banquet hall of Chang'an Club, a cultural feast from the Emerald Isle officially began. In partnership with the Embassy of Ireland in China and the Irish Trade and Development Board, Chang'an Club presented the "Taste of Ireland" event, offering members and guests an immersive experience that blended Irish cuisine, music, dance, and literature.

His Excellency Ann Derwin, Ambassador of Ireland to China, visited the event and delivered a speech. She stated that over 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ireland, cooperation and exchanges in all fields have deepened, with people-to-people ties growing increasingly close. The Chang'an Club's International Cultural Year provides an excellent platform for promoting Irish culture in China, enabling more Chinese friends to experience the unique charm of Irish culture up close.

Ambassador Ande Wen emphasized that culture serves as a bridge between the two peoples, with food, music, and art acting as universal languages that transcend linguistic barriers. She expressed her hope that such cultural exchange activities will further deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese and Irish people, advancing bilateral relations to new heights.

The Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Ireland also attended and delivered a speech, highlighting Ireland's achievements in trade, technology, and education, as well as the promising prospects for business cooperation between China and Ireland.

At the event, a traditional Irish harpist delivered a captivating performance. The harp's clear, ethereal tones flowed like spring water, transporting guests into ancient Celtic legends from Ireland. From classic Irish folk songs to modern adaptations, each piece showcased the unique charm of the harp, Ireland's national instrument.

The performance of traditional Irish step dancing brought the event to a thrilling climax. Dressed in authentic costumes, the dancers captivated the audience with their precise, powerful footwork and rhythmic taps, showcasing the passion and energy of Irish dance. Their rapid, synchronized steps earned enthusiastic applause from all attendees.

The highlight of the tasting session was Irish whiskey. Expert sommeliers guided guests through a selection of classic Irish whiskies, ranging from single malts to blended varieties, each with its own distinct flavor profile.
